Wärtsilä receives an order for inert gas solutions for 17 LNG carriers of Daewoo Shipbuilding
Recently, Daewoo Shipbuilding of South Korea awarded Wärtsilä a contract to supply inert gas generators and gas burners to 17 LNG carriers under construction. The contract is expected to be delivered to Daewoo Shipbuilding in the third quarter of 2016.
Wärtsilä signed the above supply contract in June and September 2015. The new shipbuilding operators are from Singapore, Greece, South Korea, Cyprus and Canada.
It is reported that the combined inert gas generator and gas burning device jointly developed by Wärtsilä and Daewoo Shipbuilding, the maximum gas manufacturing capacity of 3800 kg / hour, enough to meet the needs of the largest LNG carrier in the shipping industry. The system uses the existing Wärtsilä Moss inert gas generator to burn evaporating LNG gas, reducing traditional gas burners, resulting in significant savings in cost and operating costs.
Wärtsilä began supplying small form factor systems in 2013.
