VEKA Group receives 15 orders for complete control systems
Recently, VEKA Group and van der Velden Marine Systems have signed 15 contracts to provide complete sets of steering gear and rudder technology solutions for inland oil tankers.
The contract includes 15 complete operating system contracts consisting of an integrated alarm and control steering wheel, hydraulic system and high lift rudder.
It is reported that these control systems are required by the newly designed "RPG" series of river trade tankers ordered by Belgium-based Plouvier Transport NV and its subsidiary Intership AG. Shell Trading Rotterdam will lease these newly built vessels. All ships will operate mainly on LNG power.
Although the hulls of these ships will be built at the CENTROMOST shipyard in VEKA Group, Poland, they will be installed by the VEKA Group Werkendam Shipyard in the Netherlands. The first three vessels will be delivered to Plouvier by the end of the year.
