According to the latest statistics released by the Automotive Branch of the China Chamber of Mechatronics, in the first half of this year, China exported 255,500 vehicles of all types of vehicles (including spare parts and chassis), an increase of 55.34% compared with the same period of last year, and the export amount was 3.137 billion US dollars. , a year-on-year increase of 32.97%, a sharp rebound in the rate of increase.

According to reports, among all vehicle exports, commercial vehicles including trucks (including chassis), large and medium-sized passenger vehicles and special-purpose vehicles are the major models for China’s entire vehicle exports, accounting for 76.5% of China’s total vehicle exports. Car exports are mainly based on sedans. In the first half of this year, the number of cars exported was 70,800, and the export value was 520 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 80% and 48.6% respectively over the same period of last year.

“A clear trend compared to last year was that the exports of cars with 1.0L to 1.5L displacement increased more, reaching 49,000 units in the first half of the year, an increase of 94.28% year-on-year. However, the average price of all types of car exports fell sharply. It was US$7,336, down 17.55% year-on-year.” said Yang Aiguo, an expert from the China Chamber of Commerce and Industry Automotive Subcommittee.

Yang Aiguo said that with the gradual recovery of the world economy, the international auto market has shown signs of recovery, especially in 2010, China’s auto exports have grown steadily. “For China’s auto exports, we have determined that we have spent the most difficult period.”

As for the performance of vehicle exports in the second half of the year and in the future, Yang Aiguo believes that according to the current export trend, it is expected that China’s auto exports may reach 650,000 vehicles throughout the whole year of 2010 and will return to the levels of 2007 and 2008. Among them, in addition to the improvement of the world economic situation, the increase in the purchasing power of China’s auto export destination countries, and the boost of China’s domestic auto market conversely, the implementation of the free trade zone policy has played an important role.

According to reports, with the establishment of China’s ASEAN Free Trade Area in January 2010, ASEAN’s auto market, which has always been heavily restricted, began to be gradually opened to member countries. In the first half of the automobile exports, the number of exports to ASEAN except cars decreased by 3.23 year-on-year. In addition to exports (% increase in exports by 41.58%), exports of trucks, large and medium-sized buses, and special-purpose vehicles have increased substantially in both value and quantity compared with the same period of previous years.

At the same time, following the signing of a free trade agreement with Chile and Peru, China has also brought more opportunities for China’s commercial vehicles to enter the overseas market under the conditions of gradually reducing tariffs and investment thresholds. Take Peru as an example.
