A few days ago, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine announced the inspection and sampling of import and export commodities outside the catalogue in 2016.
The data shows that among Chinese exports, the tire failure rate is only 2.6%, which is the lowest.
Data show that from January to November 2016, China's tire exports totaled 429.087 million, an increase of 6.2%.
According to relevant sources, as technology advances and manufacturing levels continue to improve, the overall quality of Chinese-made tires rises rapidly, and the quality level of some products is not worse than that of foreign brands.

In contrast, in the past two years, some big-name tires have been plagued by quality problems. In 2016, the most frequently complained tire brand in China due to quality problems was Bridgestone.
Relevant departments have increased the intensity of spot checks on high-risk commodities with frequent quality problems and widespread consumer concerns in recent years.
It is understood that the AQSIQ's spot checks on import and export commodities involve three major categories of electromechanical, textile, resources and chemicals, with a total of 15 key commodities.
The data of the spot checks are mainly from the entry and exit inspection and quarantine institutions of various customs. It conducts spot checks on national ports, domestic markets, cross-border e-commerce, areas of imported products, export-producing enterprises and cargo distribution centers, and covers all major distribution channels for import and export commodities.
