College students survey 100 left-behind children, 60% of children often think of parents
Nearly half of children left behind have psychological problems
What are the living, studying and psychological conditions of rural left-behind children? A few days ago, 21 social practice team members from Wuchang University of Technology's School of Art and Design came to these villages in Qiliping Town, Hongan County in the old revolutionary base area with these questions to conduct questionnaire surveys on the current status of left-behind children. A total of 100 left-behind children were investigated. According to the survey results, 60% of children often miss their parents and nearly half have certain psychological problems.
The launch of the event mainly focused on the distribution of questionnaires to facilitate the understanding of the personal psychological conditions, living conditions and learning of left-behind children. The survey includes six parts, including living conditions, psychological conditions, learning conditions, education status, ideas, and opinions. It covers 21 issues such as children's living environment, personality characteristics, and academic performance. The 21-person practice team visited a dozen villages such as Caodian Village, Bayi Village and Yangshan Village in Qiliping Town.
Survey found
Nearly half of children left behind have psychological problems
The investigation team conducted a questionnaire survey on the characteristics of left-behind children and investigated the psychological status of left-behind children. For left-behind children, on the question of their own personality traits, 58 people think they are cheerful, accounting for 58% of the total number of respondents; 27 people think they are introverted, accounting for 27% of the total number of people surveyed; There are 8 people, accounting for 8% of the total number of people in the survey; 3 people think that their personality is fierce, accounting for 3% of the total number of people surveyed; 4 people think they are weak, accounting for 4% of the total number of people surveyed. The survey showed that 42% of left-behind children have psychological problems.
The survey data also showed that the intergenerational education of left-behind children accounted for 58% of the total number of people surveyed, more than half. Due to the unclear responsibility for guardianship, most of the ancestors have a low level of education. Most of them are illiterate or semi-literate, and their ideological concepts are far from their grandchildren, making it difficult to communicate with their children. Left-behind children because their parents are not around for a long time, the family's deficiencies make left-behind children unable to enjoy normal family care, life's troubles can not talk to their loved ones, the growing confusion can not be properly guided and encouraged by parents, over time, helplessness, Feelings of loss and abandonment were gradually formed, which seriously affected the mental health of left-behind children.
When asked how often parents return home, 26 people said that their parents returned one or three months, accounting for 26% of the total number of respondents; 14 people said that their parents returned from three months to six months, accounting for the total number of people surveyed. 14%; 48 people said that their parents returned once every six months to one year, accounting for 48% of the total number of respondents; and 12 people said that their parents returned one or more years, accounting for 12% of the total number of people surveyed. The survey showed that 60% of parents returned more than half a year.
Due to the lack of affection, left-behind children lack emotional and psychological care, lack the objects to talk to and seek help, and are unwilling to contact or contact with the outside world too little, resulting in some left-behind children showing personality characteristics such as inner closedness, emotional indifference and unsociable behavior. There are personality deficiencies and psychological barriers in the land. Some left-behind children have negative emotions, and some have rebellious emotions and resentment.
When investigating whether or not left-behind children miss their parents, 64 people said they often missed, accounting for 64% of the total number of respondents; 35 people said they sometimes missed, accounting for 35% of the total number of surveys; 1 said they did not want to miss, accounting for the total number of surveys 1%. Because parents work outside the home all year round, resulting in the incompleteness of the families of left-behind children and lack of parental affection, and the lack of care and attention of the existing social systems in rural areas for left-behind children, the attachment of their parents' emotions is difficult to satisfy.
I hope my parents don’t go out to work
come back quickly
"My parents have not been home for the New Year for several years. I hope they will not go out to work. Come back quickly. I miss them." Cai Xin, a left-behind child, said sadly to the research team. The practitioners found that left-behind children generally lack family members, especially their parents' care and concern. Many left-behind children have "stay-at-home" syndrome: tired of study, disinterested, and lack of cooperation.
On behalf of the guardian Grandma Jiang said with deep feeling: "The parents of their children are forced to go out to work and earn money for their livelihood. This is all to improve living conditions..."
Left-behind children as a special group in today's society, Li Huan, the head of the practice team, told reporters that they hope that through their own efforts, left-behind children will cause more social attention, so that the community will know more about them and help them, so that left-behind children in love Care for healthy growth.
