Texas Instruments Introduces Industry's Smallest Lowest Power Dual Channel DAC

Texas Instruments announced the introduction of the latest dual-channel 500MSPS digital-to-analog converter (DAC) to reduce bill of materials costs for broadband transmission systems. The 12-bit DAC 3162 and the 10-bit DAC 3152 are the smallest, lowest cost, and lowest power devices in their class and are suitable for broadband transmission systems such as wireless base stations, software-defined radios, point-to-point microwaves, E-Band radios, and portable test equipment.
The main features and advantages:
• Lowest power consumption: A sharp drop of at least 30% extends the battery life of portable devices. At 500MSPS, the DAC3162 consumes only 135mW per channel when the output current is 20mA, and 67mW per channel when the output current is 2mA.
• Small form factor: The 7mm x 7mm QFN package requires 50% less board space than the closest dual channel 500MSPS DAC solution.
• Pin-to-pin compatibility: 12-bit or 10-bit resolution can be easily implemented, and cost flexibility is high without changing the board or software;
• Simplified interface: No Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI) is required.
Tools and Availability:
The DAC3162 and DAC3152 in a 48-pin, 7mm x 7mm QFN package are sampling now and will be in volume production in November 2011.
In addition, TI also provides evaluation boards (EVMs) for the DAC3162 and DAC3152, as well as a complete transceiver chain including the CDCP1803 clock buffer and the TRF370333 quadrature modulator. These latest EVMs are fully compatible with the TITSW3100 pattern generator module and support rapid evaluation. The DAC3162EVM and DAC3152EVM are available now.
In addition, an IBIS model is also provided.

Welding Rope

Tungsten carbide welding rope is a type of welding filler material that is used for hardfacing applications. It is made by combining tungsten carbide particles with a binding material, such as nickel or cobalt, to create a rope-like form.

Tungsten carbide is known for its exceptional hardness and wear resistance, making it ideal for applications where the welded surface needs to withstand extreme abrasion and impact. The welding rope is typically used in industries such as mining, oil and gas, construction, and agriculture.

When the tungsten carbide welding rope is heated during the welding process, the binding material melts and fuses the tungsten carbide particles to the base metal, creating a hard and durable surface. This helps to extend the lifespan of equipment and machinery by protecting it from wear and tear.

Tungsten carbide welding rope can be applied using various welding processes, including manual metal arc welding (MMA), gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), and flux-cored arc welding (FCAW). The choice of welding process depends on the specific application and the equipment available.

Overall, tungsten carbide welding rope offers a cost-effective solution for protecting and repairing high-wear surfaces, making it a popular choice in industries where durability and longevity are essential.
