Metal zinc wire is replaced with the replacement tank for precipitation from a solution containing gold in cyanide. The replacement sedimentation tank is an open rectangular box made of wood, steel or cement (see the figure below ). The geometrical size is determined according to the amount of the treatment liquid and the convenience of the operation. The general length of the box is 3. 5 ～ 7 .3 meters , width 0.5 ~ 1 .0 meters , high at 0.75 ～ 0 .9 meters between. The box is divided into 7 to 9 slots by upper and lower partitions. The first groove serves as a clarification grid without the addition of zinc wire. The gold-containing liquid is first placed in the first tank, and is displaced through the screen and the zinc wire layer from the bottom of the second tank through the flow gap, and then proceeds to the next tank. The lean liquid flows out from the last tank discharge port, and the gold mud partially adheres to the zinc wire, and most of it sinks to the bottom of the tank, and finally is uniformly recovered.
