Concentric double tube layered polymer injection process progresses

On July 2nd, at the Symposium on Concentric Double-tube Layered Polymerization Process held at the Development Department of Shengli Oilfield, Sinopec, the participating experts believed that the layered injection polymerization process independently developed by Gudong Oil Production Plant has the qualification rate and viscosity of layered injection. With the high retention rate, the effect of increasing oil and precipitation is significant.
After the oil fields entered the high water cut period, polymer flooding was an important technical measure for the sustainable production of the Gudong Oil Production Plant. However, it is difficult to solve the problem of shearing of polymer solution with downhole tools, so that layered injection polymerization cannot be promoted.
Since 2007, the three mining technicians at Gudong Oil Production Plant have tackled this problem and innovated to develop a concentric double-tube layered injection polymerization process that includes a concentric double-tube layered polymer injection column and an associated downhole tool. At present, the process has been field-tested in 12 wells, achieving low-shear, high-pressure differential, high-precision, and non-clogging double-layer stratification targets.
