The 30,000-ton/year production line process package design completed by the project laid a technical foundation for China to establish a biodegradable carbon dioxide-based plastics industry with world competitiveness.

The project team developed an efficient, stable, low-cost rare-earth three-way catalyst loading technology and combined catalyst technology for the bottleneck problem of biodegradable carbon dioxide-based plastic engineering. The polymerization activity was higher than 120 g/g catalyst for 8 hours. The relative molecular mass of the polymer product reaches more than 150,000 and can be regulated between 80,000 and 150,000. At the same time, the project team completed the design and manufacture of large-volume (15 cubic meters) high-pressure polymerization reactors, breaking through post-processing technologies such as precipitation, washing, drying, monomer recovery and purification, and polymer on-line modification technologies. The content of heavy metals in the polymer meets the requirements of the American Biodegradable Plastics Association. At the same time, the modified carbon dioxide-based plastic film has been toughened and reinforced to reach the level of high-density polyethylene film, and has passed the US BPI certification. The project was approved by experts from the High Technology Research and Development Bureau of the Chinese Academy of Sciences on May 25.

During the study period, the project team applied for 3 international patents and 17 Chinese invention patents in the design and preparation of three-way catalysts for carbon dioxide-based plastics, multi-polymerization technologies, post-polymerization processing technologies, and modification technologies, and has obtained two domestic invention patents. Authorization.

In cooperation with Zhejiang Taizhou Bangfeng Plastics Co., Ltd., it established a 10,000-ton CO2-based plastics production line and completed its operation test on May 15 this year.
